The bearing seat is a commonly used device, usually located at both ends of the shaft, which pulls up the main shaft and serves as a support. The bearing seat is the main component of the bearing operating equipment, and its normal operation plays a decisive role in the working state of the machine. When the bearing capacity is large, roller bearing seats are usually used, and their main structure is shown in the following figure.

When the bearing capacity is large, roller bearing seats are usually used, and their main structure is shown in the following figure.
1、 Tighten the bolts. The roller bearing seat is usually designed as a split type for easy installation, which means that the upper and lower parts of the bearing seat can be separated for easy installation of the bearing. Tightening the bolts serves to fix the upper and lower parts of the bearing seat.
2、 Adapter. In order to tightly install the bearing on the spindle, additional equipment is required, usually using a set sleeve, eccentric locking sleeve, or set screw. The specific tightening method will be introduced in subsequent articles.
3、 Oil drain plug. Also known as oil drain hole, when bearings are lubricated, due to the action of gravity, the internal lubricating grease liquefies and settles, which will accumulate at the bottom. This requires opening a hole at the bottom of the bearing to remove the internal waste lubricating oil. The oil drain plug serves this purpose.
4、 Bearing housing housing. The bearing housing shell is generally made of ductile iron or cast steel, and in some special applications, there are also stainless steel shells and phosphate coated shells.
5、 Oil filling plug. Matched with the third item, there is a place for oil discharge and also a place for oil inlet. When supplementary lubrication is needed for the bearing seat, it is done through this place.
6、 Seals. Seals are a key equipment that may require different sealing methods in different applications. For details, please refer to the article "What is bearing sealing, how to classify bearing seals, and how to choose them.
7、 Self aligning roller bearings. The bearings installed inside the bearing seat generally use self-aligning roller bearings, which are the core of the bearing seat. The specific functions do not need to be elaborated.
8、 Install bolt holes. The bearing seat is usually installed with two bolts, and there are also three bolt and four bolt installation methods.
9、 Knock ball. Used to control installation accuracy, through a series of indicators, to facilitate the installation of bearing seats with higher accuracy.
